"There was a need for a high-quality practical example, a reference standard and benchmark for the construction and management of business parks in Flanders." - minister Fientje Moerman (2007)
In early 2007, the Evolis project was awarded the title of ‘TOP project' and has thus become the benchmark for the construction, layout and management of business parks in Flanders.
With the TOP project the then Flemish Minister for the Economy, Fientje Moerman, wanted to encourage business parks to pay more attention to ecology, viability and sustainable development.
When selecting the TOP project, the jury considered the following aspects:
- A clear perspective on the layout of the business park, with clear-cut principles in the area of sustainability;
- The presence of ecological aspects such as green zone management and the avoidance of nuisance;
- The development of innovative park management, e.g. the joint provision of services;
- Good accessibility to the business park
