Opening

On 11th July 2009, Evolis was officially opened by Flemish Minister-President in the presence of around 700 invited guests.

In the meantime, the infrastructure works have been completed at Evolis and Intercommunale Leiedal will soon be welcoming the first three companies, which were announced during the official opening. AVC from Ardooie, Ingenial from Moeskroen and Energy ICT from Kortrijk have already reserved their places at the prestigious business park.

Over the course of the past months, the wind turbines on the site were constructed and started up by Electrawinds and inaugurated on 11th July. As tradition demands, the four turbines were also given names. The names of the four Daltons were chosen - Joe, Jack, William and Averell - as a homage to the spiritual father of the cartoon strip Lucky Luke by Morris, a native of Kortrijk.

At 8pm, the official opening changed into Kortrijk Congé, a festival format created by seven artistic organisations which present artistic works to a large and broad audience and had chosen the decor of Evolis for this edition. This marvellous festival continued into the small hours despite the rain.
